I have 'the A/C rhythm mix' on TM Century GoldDisc. Was this an official version
serviced to radio? I don't see anything listed in the database.

I have a version of Amy Grant's "Lucky One" on the Promo Only Mainstream Radio DJ CD subscription series that begins with vocals and runs 3:58. Does anyone know which version this is?

Since the database now documents promo single info for Amy Grant's "Lucky One", I inquired with Ed for details regarding his cassette single copy. He reports the following:
"A" side - LP Version (actual and printed time: 4:09)
"B" side - Remix (actual and printed run time: 4:09)
Now, since both versions are on the promo CD single release and therefore likely received Top 40 radio airplay, should each side of the cassette single be mentioned in the database so subscribers can decide for themselves which one is the "true" hit version? I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts on this.

There's a 'chartbusters weekly hits' cd that has a version titled "remix"
and running 3:50. Is this just an early fade of the 4:09 "remix" ?

I heard the "LP Version" mostly on AC radio and the
"Remix" mostly on Top 40 radio. The version that begins
with vocals is an alternate edit of the "Remix" called
"The Lucky Street Mix".

I'm not sure which version of "Lucky One" was meant to be the official single version and/or hit. As noted above, the Cassette Single had the LP Version as the A-Side and the remix as the B-Side. But the commercial 45 had the Remix as the A-Side and a remix of her previous hit, "I Will Remember You" as the B-Side. I do know that I never heard the "Lucky One" remix on the radio at all. I never actually heard it until it appeared on her "Greatest Hits 1986-2004" CD.

My memory is fuzzy on the version we played at my old top 40 station. I was just starting out in radio, and I don't recall playing it in heavy rotation. I seem to remember us spinning the Lucky Street Mix that starts cold with vocals.

I heard the "LP Version" and "Remix" about equally, if I
recall correctly. I did hear "The Lucky Street Mix" a
few times as well. Interesting how the "House of Love"
album only featured the "LP Version" but the "Greatest
Hits 1986 - 2004" release had the "Remix" only. As for
which version was the "hit", I would argue both the "LP
Version" and the "Remix".

I was surprised that the "Lucky One" remix wasn't on that bonus disc of remixes that came with the 86-04 CD. It seemed better suited to be on that disc than the main CD.
I guess if they only included the remix, maybe that's what the label and/or Amy considered to be the "Hit" Version.

Great point! That bonus disc left a lot of remixes to
be desired. I think that sticking with the single
mixes/versions on the main disc (instead of the album
versions that were mostly featured) and including
additional remixes on the bonus disc would have made
more sense. Then, again, a "Heart in Motion" deluxe 2-
CD edition is long overdue.

I also recall hearing both the LP version and remix of
"Lucky One" equally when it was new.
Incidentally, I did hear the "Philly Soul" remix of
"House of Love" (taken from the same album as "Lucky
One") played more on radio and video channels than the
album mix, however.

An expanded edition of the parent album House of Love will be released Sept. 27. Among other bonus tracks, it will feature the Churban 12" Mix of "Lucky One" in digital format for the first time.
