Does anybody have a preferred source for either the LP or single version of this song? Seems like every source I have sounds thin and harsh.
I'm currently using the version from Sony Music Special Products "Winners Take All" compilation but I'm not very happy with it.
(I notice there's no MFSL release of "Metal Health"... LOL)

The 45 edit on Rhino's 7-CD Like Omigod (2002) is significantly clearer than just about all the other versions on CD, including both the LP and 45 versions. It's my go-to disc for this song.
As for the LP version, they're all going to sound about the same. The following all use the same analog transfer as the original release of the single-artist Quiet Riot album Metal Health:- Sony's 2-CD Read The Hits (1994) - I really like this set, and heartily recommend it for the terrific track selection and great sound (mostly differently-EQ'd digital clones of some of the early CBS single-artist CDs)
- Warner Special Products' 2-CD Rockin' USA (1994)
- Time-Life's Sounds Of The Eighties Vol. 3 1983 (1994)
- Razor & Tie's 2-CD Everything '80s (1995)
- Realm's 3-CD Greatest Hits Of The '80s Vol. 1 (1995)
- Rhino's Youth Gone Wild Vol. 1 (1996)
- Razor & Tie's Monsters Of Rock (1998)
- Sony's Hits Of 1983 (1999)
All of the above sounds basically the same. The Time-Life disc is just fine, as is Read The Hits.

Gene,
I'm so glad I found this forum back in 2007. Contributors,
like Ron, are what drive this community to be so useful. I
can also attest to Ron's findings about the suberb quality
of this song on Like Omigod.
