Quick question for the room. Noticed that the LP version of "Farmer John" has a 20 second (or thereabouts) intro. Can this intro be snipped off to create the 45, or is there overlapping involved that would make it not possible?
TIA.

Hi Doug,
Actually the mono 45 version does not start cold with the music, it has a shorter (:05) intro with no talking, the crowd yelling one big "Yaaaaaaaaay" and a "Whooooooo" then the music kicks in. From the start of the music, the 2 versions are the same, altho on the mono mix the vocals are a little lower in the mix.
It seems made that album intro after the fact and tacked it onto the track.
I've already made a "stereo 45" version with the correct intro, be happy to mail it you if you like.

The stereo 45 that Mark created never got officially released on CD. Would have been a good one for Hit Parade or Eric Records to include on one of their various artists compilations.
A top 20 hit in 1964. Surprised Bill Buster never included it on either the Hard To Find 45s On CD, Jukebox Classics or Stereo Explosion series.
