can anyway clarify what the difference is between the single version of "When You Believe" and the Prince of Egypt soundtrack version? Is the single just an edit or a different version? Is there a longer intro or longer outro on the soundtrack, or something longer in the middle? Thanks in advance.

That's an interesting question.

I have the USA and Euro CD singles. On the Euro single it's listed as the album version, and on the US it just says "from the Prince of Egypt". On both, it runs for 4:35.

This version is shorter than the one on the soundtrack which runs for about 5 minutes.

The only difference is it has a 30 second violin intro before the start of the 4:35 version comes in.

So in truth, the version on the singles should have been labeled "album edit", "single version", or similar.

But the guys in charge of these things I have found are not close to being as anal as real music fans : P

By the way, you can also find the 5:00 version on the video, I just checked it and that's the one used for it.
