Anybody have the UK CD single for this song?

Catalog number: 658356 2

1. No Ordinary Love
2. Paradise (Remix)
3. No Ordinary Love (Album Version)

My question is if track 1 is the Album Edit (5:20) or the Radio Edit (3:57).

Thanks!

elcoleccionista:

I have the Sade "No Ordinary Love" UK CD single on Epic 658356 2. Track 1 is the single version running 5:22.

You mention a radio edit running 3:57... Do you know if this edit is the one appearing on the various artist CD The Classic Chillout Album (Epic 86337)? The 10th edition of T40MOCD shows the song with a run time of 3:59 on this disc, but contains the comment: (neither the 45 or LP version). Is this actually the DJ edit? (For anyone interested in checking, the 3:59 edit of "No Ordinary Love" from The Classic Chillout Album is available as a paid download track on I-Tunes and Napster.)

Thank you Todd!

I haven't heard the Classic Chillout Album, but by its running time I bet it is the radio edit.

I know that the 3:57 radio edit was used for the promo cd in the UK, don't know what version they used on the US.

I would think this one, since the 5:22 is still a bit long for airplay. That one was included on the commercial US CD, per what I have researched.

The 3:57 radio edit is the one you can hear on the video, too.

My TM Century library has the (3:57) radio edit, so the US promo single probably also has that edit.

Confused here...Aaron mentions the version he has at 3:57 is the radio edit, yet the database mentions a neither the 45 nor LP version for this. Online, on Napster from an album called Voices, is also a 4:00 version labeled Radio Edit.

So, what's the verdict? Is the 3:59 a true DJ edit?

i think the 3:57 version should be listed as the dj promo/radio edit version, and the 5:23 version listed as the 45/cassingle version....

According to the database, the promo CD single for "No Ordinary Love" contains the "LP version" with a run time of 5:23. This track description is technically incorrect though given that the true LP version from Sade's Love Deluxe CD runs 7:18. Therefore, is the "LP version" track on the promo CD single actually identical to the 45 version, which also runs 5:23. If so, then this info should probably be clarified in the database.

Does anyone know the edit points for the Radio Edit?
The album version is about seven minutes long, but I
never knew there was yet another 5:23 version as well.

I have the radio edit on one of the CD's in the database,
Voices. The edit is available on iTunes for 1.29.

I attempted to edit the 7:19 album version down to the 45 version, but it doesn't look like it can be done. The single version layers in some extra guitar work. The single snips out 69 seconds from 2:15 to 3:24 on the album version, but then has an added guitar at the 2:51 mark that's missing from the album version at the corresponding 4:00 mark. I stopped editing there since my project was doomed.
