The 1993 top 10 hit uses the background of Michael Jackson's 1983 hit Human Nature on the remix by Teddy Riley (which elevates an average single to a fantastic #2 hit). Just wondering but its always listed and played as a remix, was the original Right Here by SWV ever played on radio or is it only limited to the R&B charts? The original Right Here appears on It's About Time, the 1992 release from the group and had its own CD single. I would probably say no to the original being on radio, I never heard it.

The original version of "Right Here" was the first single
released by SWV. It only managed a #92 peak on the Hot
100, so not many stations played it. The success of "I'm
So Into You" and especially "Weak" paved the way for the
remix to become a big hit too. Of course, the added
"Human Nature" element was also instrumental in its
success.
