Ya'll already know what I'm going to ask about this one. :-)

Looks like the video and commercial single had the line, "...I didn't get laid..."

There were apparently two versions released to radio, one saying "...I didn't get MADE..." and the other saying "I didn't get A BREAK...".

I'm thinking I'm remembering stations in conservative Oklahoma playing, "...I didn't get MADE..." but my memory is a little fuzzy.

Which of these three, laid, made, or a break, would you consider the radio hit? Does anybody know what KIIS-FM, WLS, and Z100 were playing?

As a side note, is there a way to tell "made" radio versions from "a break" radio versions? Looking at the labels in Discogs I couldn't pick out the differences.

Thanks!

I don't even remember hearing this song during its chart run. Our station didn't play it, don't think Kiss 108 in Boston did either (they
didn't play much rock).

That song was a HUGE favorite of mine at the time. I remember hearing ALL 3 versions on CHR stations, with the "made" lyric probably heard most
often.

Don’t forget the lyric, “Had a few beers, gettin’ high!” American Top 40 had
altered the word “high”. It sounded like “wild” but it could be something they
did on their part.

I bumped up the other Lita Ford thread. Lots of good info on "Kiss Me Deadly."

Here's a summary:

LP version - "didn't get laid"
Single Version (as labeled on promo 45) - "didn't get made" (keeps the "gettin' high" lyric in the second verse)
Special Radio Version - "didn't get a break" (first verse) AND "gettin' wild" (second verse)

Are all three versions on CD?

When the song was out I was only able to find "Didn't Get A Break" on vinyl on the DJ 45. I had access to the "Made" version on CD
from a Hitmakers Promo CD.
