one hit wonder from Spain and big smash in early 1974... flip side is English language version: "Touch The Wind (Eres Tu)... has this ever been released on CD??? the version sounds like vocals dubbed in English over original instrumental track but is in mono, unlike A-side which is stereo...

I have an MP3 of the B-side, and it does sound like the same music, with an
english vocal, that has echo added. Don't ever recall seeing this on any US
CD.

Jrjr, the Spanish version was a 1973 international hit. An "English Version" was then recorded, hoping for subsequent U.S. success. My 1974 promo 45 indicates that this newly sung, "Touch The Wind (Eres Tu)" side was the intended U.S. A-side. However, the original version did appear on the flip, for both the promo and commercial 45. Then, U.S. radio, to the surprise of many, overwhelmingly opted instead to play the original foreign-language version. I just pulled out my original U.S. LP for you, to see if the English Version perhaps appeared there - it does not - it ONLY includes the original version. So, it appears to me that the original 45 is the ONLY place to find the "English Version." And, like your 45, Jrjr, my promo 45 for this version is in mono, despite stating stereo, while the original version both states and is, in fact, stereo.

While recently browsing for other things on CD, I stumbled upon an Import CD (BMG Spain, stock # 82876547852), simply titled "Mocedades (Eres Tu)". My CD copy just arrived. This is a 10-track collection, with 2 "Temas Extra" (extra tracks) included. One of those two bonus tracks happens to be the English-sung version of "Eres Tu", titled "Touch The Wind (Eres Tu)". The track has a running time of (3:44), is in mono, and has echo added, just as it did on the U.S. 45. To my knowledge, this is the English version's worldwide CD debut. Especially weird for this debut is the fact that all of the liner notes for this CD are in Spanish!
