Other than maybe seven or so seconds of run time, are there any discernable differences on Ace's "How Long" between the 45 and the LP version? I listened to them back to back and I'm having difficulty picking out distinguishable characteristics between the two. Does the 45 simply fade out a little bit earlier than the LP and that's it? Or are there subtle differences in the mixes? Can anyone share some insight on this? Thanks!

Todd,

No mix differences that I can recall. I am trying to remember if the intro was edited on the 45 version?

Bob

The only difference is the introduction edit.

hey todd.....the difference between the two is that the lp version has an 0:09 loop of the the introduction which can be easily edited out to make it sound like the 45 version.......

I re-listened to the 45 version and you guys are indeed correct about the edited intro. Thanks for pointing this out to me!

My commercial 45 has a listed time of (3:09), but an actual time of (3:13).

Another example of a song, in it's LP form, just didn't sound right with the added :09 of music. Always knew, as a kid, I remember it starting with the drums. Thanks for the
info!

The LP version of How Long was also slightly out of phase which has been corrected on some CDs.

The mono side of the promo 45 was uploaded here. Does anyone know if this is a dedicated mix or just a fold down?
