Michael Jackson "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" with spoken intro was on the original CD... it was replaced fairly quickly with the spoken intro taken out.
However, I don't think they ever replaced it on the UK CD (until the recent remasters, that is), so you might go on www.Amazon.co.uk and see if you can find the original version of the CD there.

Has anyone yet found a copy of the 45 version of "Right On Track" by the Breakfast Club on CD? This version, as indicated above is called the "Local Mix." If not, I just might have to transfer it from my 12" single.

My 12" single says the "local mix" is the LP version. What do you hear different from the 45 and LP version?

The LP Version, as far as I know (I don't have the actual LP to
check), starts off with a music intro (about 24 seconds), while
the Local Mix (45 Version) starts off cold with an acapella
chorus. The LP Version is 4:16, and the 45 version is 4:33 (I
believe).

The dj 45 has 2 different versions both called the "local mix". One starts immediately with vocals and runs 4:33, the other has a :23 instrumental opening and runs 4:16 just like the LP version. Joel Whitburn lists the 45 as running 4:16 so I assume the commercial copy runs 4:16. From what I can gather, the 45 is the same as the LP version, both running 4:16.

Your assumption is actually incorrect. I have the commercial 45, and the A Side has the 4:33 "Local Mix" with the vocals at the beginning. The B Side is a Dub Version of the song, although I'm not sure if it's acutally called "Dub Version."

Aaron, does the 45 label SAY it's 4:16? I'm just curious, because Whitburn seems to get a lot of running times wrong.

Hey Brian - I'm not sure what the label says, because my 45 is packed away at my parents' house. I am positive of the mixes on it, because I have the A-side "local mix" transferred to a cd from my 45. It's the version that starts off with the vocals. I'm also positive that the B-side is a dub version; however, I don't think the dub mix is labeled--it just says "Right On Track."

attn all.....the song "right on track" by the breakfast club that was issued in 1987 on the mca 52954 45, contains, on the A side, the "local mix" stated on the label's face with the stated running time as 4:33......after just reviewing the actual running time is 4:30 NOT 4:33..........and a non decribed version on the B-side that states the run time as 4:05 but is actually 4:03........so neither version is the lp version from their self titled cd......both the a & b sides of the 45 states that the "original version appears on the MCA lp mca-5821".......as far as i know whitburn has this running time incorrect......as we all know he is slipping in his accuracy..........so, bottom line, the 45 version was never issued on cd....and is a completely different mix than the cd mix, so we can't even edit/massage the cd version to mirror the 45 version.........
