Todd mentions in the "single/album version" post that there is a difference between the 45 and album version of "Captain Of Her Heart." I tracked down a copy of the 45, and there is indeed one edit in the song, making the 45 version run (4:02).

In my 8th edition of T40MOCD, there are no comments, but beside each CD listed it should read "LP version." I have never seen the 45 version appear on a domestic release; however, there are a couple import compilations that list the song with a (3:57) run time.

yes.....the few import cds that contain the 3:57 or 3:59 version do indeed run about 0:04 shorter than the actual 45 version........just another example of people screwing with 45 completest like us........

There *may* be a noticable EQ difference in the single and album versions.

I seem to recall the "single" side of my promo 12" was a lot crisper than the "album" side.

I had a copy of the 45 edit from somewhere, but decided
to recreate it myself. As Aaron mentioned in 2005, only
one edit.

I used Double's "Blue" as my source.

Keep 00.00 - 1:37.08
Remove 1:37.08 to 2:07.708
Keep 2:07.708 to the end.

Resulting file runs 4:01
