TINA TURNER - "What You Get Is What You See"

The actual commercial 45 running time is (3:54), the listed time is "3:57" on the record label. (Capitol B-5668)

Could anyone advise on how to recreate the edit? The LP version (featured on all Tina discs I own) runs 4:28.

Thanks!!

There are 3 edits to make the 45 version:

- On the 2nd half of the intro (after the opening electric guitar line on the part that begins about :12 in with the repeated acoustic guitar riff), you'll need to make an edit so that the vocal "mmm yeah" comes in on the first repeated riff. I deleted from :13.8 to :16.9 to accomplish this.
- Then make another edit so that there is only one more repeated riff before the first verse. I deleted from :20 to :23. The end result is that the second part of the intro consists of 2 sections of the repeated acoustic riff with the "mmm yeah" occurring on the first one.
- Delete the section from 3:34.9 to 3:59.5, right where she sings "Oh".

The LP version sounds a bit different than my 45, though. I can't tell if the 45 is just mastered differently (perhaps with some compression and mid-range eq to punch it up), or if maybe there was some very subtle remixing. I applied a bit of compression to get it to sound closer to the 45.

Does anyone know if the version on the import "The Platinum Collection" (mentioned in other TT threads" contains the 45 version of "What You Get Is What You See""

Thanks.
