anybody know where i can find the 45 version (4:35) of toto "i won't hold you back".....the only version i can find in the lp version (4:59)...

I've looked for this one, too, but I've never seen it on CD. I made my own edit using the LP Version. If you don't know where the one edit is, it's at the instrumental break at 3:17. The first half is cut out (about 19 seconds), and it skips right to the second half of the instrumental section (where there's more strings in the mix). It's an easy edit to make with your audio editing software.

my commercial 45 issued as columbia 03597 states a run time on the label as 4:35 and does indeed run that length and is an edit of the full length 4:55 cd version...this 45 run time info s/b added to the db.......thanks for the custom edit you did awhile ago, paul

Aaron,
I was commenting to cdguy that I remember it as an edit, I probably saw it in The Toto thread for I wont hold you back years ago. I didn't recall it was on a domestic CD anywhere.
I do recall it made it to an import CD, just don't remember which one. That is where I got my rip from.

There is an import V.A. compilation from the UK titled
Precious Rock: The Greatest Rock Performances
which came out in 1995. It has a version of "I Won't Hold
You Back" running 4:33, but I'm not sure if it is an
early fade of the LP version or has the same edits as the
45 version.
