Although there's no indication in the database, some CDs with "Southside" contain a version without Gwen Stefani. The re-release of Play contains the version with Gwen, as does the CD single. Also, I believe all copies have the title listed as one word, "Southside."

I'm not exactly sure of the story behind the Moby-only version. Anyone know? Wikipedia says it was originally recorded with Gwen but not released on the album because of "technical problems." I don't always trust Wikipedia, though...

My copy of "Play" does not mention Gwen Stefani and spells the title as two words. Joel Whitburn's books list the song as two words but do mention "featuring Gwen Stefani". The other cd's in the database that contain this song also list it as two words and from what I can tell, Gwen Stefani is not on any of these cd's.

Pat, I stand corrected on the title. Only some of the DJ CD single copies have it spelled all as one word. Promo Only and TM Century also have it spelled as one word, too. The hit single version(s) all feature Gwen Stefani.

US Maxi CD:
1. Moby Featuring Gwen Stefani "South Side" (Single Version) 3:49
2. Moby Featuring Gwen Stefani "South Side" (Hybrid Dishing Pump Remix) 8:27
3. Moby "South Side" (Album Version) 3:48
(plus four other tracks)

US 2-track CD single:
1. Moby Featuring Gwen Stefani "South Side" (Edit) 3:25
2. Moby "South Side" (Original Album Version) 3:48

I suppose the true single version would be the "Edit" running 3:25. I don't have the actual single to confirm this run time, though. The 3:49 "Single Version" on the maxi-CD is the same version found on some pressings of the Play album.

By the way, there appear to be three US promo CD singles issued for this track: V2DJ-27633-2, V2DJ-27668-2, and V2DJ-27672-2.

V2DJ-27633-2 appears to be a 1-track single, running the full 3:49. V2DJ-27668-2 has both the "Edit" (3:25) and "Full Length" (3:49). V2DJ-27672-2 appears to be a 1-track single with only the "Edit." I cannot confirm any of these; however, they are all listed on Discogs.

Aaron, I can at least provide specifics for one of the 3 promo CD singles you list above. FYI, all references to the song title, both on the the jewel case and on disc itself, show "South" on one line, and "Side" on the line below:

-Moby Featuring Gwen Stefani--"South Side" (V2DJ-27668-2)
1-Edit (listed 3:25; actual 3:26)
2-Full Length (listed 3:49; actual 3;48)
