I've looked, never found it on CD...

But you're mistaken about the difference... There's no difference in the intro loop. The difference is at 2:15 on the 45 version, it jumps one chorus, straight to the start of the second-to-last chorus.

There is around 10 seconds cut out, but it's towards the end of the song, not at the beginning.

The edit is easy, for those that want to recreate the 45 edit from the LP version.

The song is actually extremely uncommon on CD. Your best bet is the full-length I Love Rock And Roll CD (Blackheart JJ747, released 1992, mastered by Bob Ludwig "from first generation tapes"), which sounds really stellar. There's a differently-EQ'd digital clone on the promo CD single from the Wayne's World 2 soundtrack; I assume that the version on the full-length soundtrack CD is also a digital clone.

The Fit To Be Tied greatest hits CD is a little loud, and a little more compressed than I Love Rock And Roll. The version on The A-List Disc 14 is taken from vinyl and has noise reduction.

I don't have the song on any compilations at all, from anywhere in the world - this is almost unheard-of for a #1 song from the '80s! And all the versions noted above are all the LP version.

To recreate the 45 (using the LP version of I Love Rock And Roll as a starting point):

Keep 0:00.0 to 2:15.3 of the LP version.
Edit on the downbeat following the line "dance with me".
Remove the 15 beats from 2:15.3 to 2:24.7. Note that it's 15 beats, not 16, because of the beat skipped in each of the choruses at the end of the song.
Keep 2:24.7 to 2:55.1 (end) of the LP version.

Your mixdown will run 2:45.8 including outro silence, about 2:45 excluding the outro silence, with a single edit at 2:15.3.
