my commercial 45 for the billy & lillie song "la dee dah"
issued as swan 4002 states the run time on the label as
2:10 but actually only runs 2:07....the proper beats per
minute are 126...

Ed I wonder if there are two different pressings of this 45 as my copy runs exactly (2:10) with a matrix number of S-4002-A. Another member has passed along his running time as (2:10) also and he points out that all cd appearances seem to run faster than the vinyl 45 both he and I own hence my thinking that possibly your (2:07) running time might be a different pressing that runs faster than pressing I have. Could you compare speeds with any of the other datbase cd's to see if your 45 speed matches the speed of this song on the other cd's listed?

pat.....my commercial 45 also has 'S-4002-A' in the run out
groove.... and you are
correct....the vinyl 45 run time is 2:10.....my
mistake...the cdr version i have runs 2:05 and runs faster
than the vinyl 45....if i pitch up the cdr version to
match the vinyl 45 speed you get closer, but the cd
versions fades out 0:02 early than the vinyl 45......so the
closest you can get to the actually 45 version is 0:02
short...

Ed, the proper 45 version is 2:10. It does not appear on CD at the proper time. I do not have the 1986 issue of Originals Still The Greatest Volume I 1957-1960 by K-Tel but that is also short and runs 2:08.

All other database versions seem to indicate that they run faster than the 45, but does it match the 45 in this video? How much faster do the CD versions run?
