An enduring track, despite missing the top 40 in 1981.
The 45 is a simple edit of the LP version. I used the LP version from Big Ones (1989), which sounds good and is very inexpensive.
Segment 1:
Extends from 0:00.0 to 3:01.2 of both the LP version and 45 edit.
Ends on a snare hit that starts the word "tonight".
Remove the 96 beats from 3:01.2 to 3:41.4 of the LP version.
Segment 2:
Extends from 3:01.2 to 3:48.5 (end) of the 45 edit.
Extends from 3:41.4 to 4:28.7 (end) of the LP version.
Your mixdown will run 3:45 (excluding outro silence), with an edit at 3:01.2.

Your timing couldn't have been better; I just began work on this track this morning. And, your instructions were easy to follow and worked like a charm!
Thanks so much for this info.
