Could someone post the promo CD details? The stock CD single does not contain the "single version", though it was included on the cassingle. Does anyone remember which version got the most airplay?

My promo CD contains the following:

A&M Records 75021 7444 2
Radio Mixes
1. Single Version (listed & actual 4:32)
2. "Work It Out" 7" With Intro (listed & actual 4:48)
3. U.K. Funky 7" (listed & actual 4:29)
4. The Love 7" (listed & actual 4:36)
5. "Work It Out" 7" (listed & actual 4:13)
Club Mixes
6. Shep's "Work It Out" Mix (listed 7:37)
7. U.K. Funky Mix (listed 6:56)
8. Shep's Love Mix (listed 6:03)
9. U.K. Funky Instrumental (listed 6:06)
10. The "Work It Out" Dub (listed 4:49)

As a current, I only remember hearing the "Single Version." As a recurrent/gold, my old top 40 station often played the UK Funky 7".

I didn't time the club mixes, but it's likely they are all also the actual times like the first five tracks.

I am hoping that the import of Design of the Decade has the correct 45
version? That's the one I own.

She needs a proper hits compilation with all the correct versions. I don't
own the import, so I don't know what's on it. In another thread, I seem
to recall reading that the import Design CD uses new edits to shorten
the songs rather than the original single edits.

You should add this one to your resume, Aaron! ;)

I plan to make one in 2019 for my own personal collection. Officially, I'm guessing A&M/Virgin would not license her material for other labels to reissue.

It would make finding the 45's much easier and cheaper...LOL. I always
thought I had the correct 45's to Janet's songs.

Thank goodness for the details that everyone provides in
this community we can find out right away if we already
have the correct versions or need to seek them out.

Happy Saturday! Can anybody confirm if the version
included on Design of a Decade is indeed a newly edited
mix for that compilation as several other tracks from
that title are? I don't believe that mix was previously
released.

Speaking of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation mixes, it
looks like just about all mixes ever released from that
album (nearly 100 in total) are being released
digitally:

Pat has the version on that CD labeled "45 version." Does it not match the
"Single Version" from the promo CD?

I'm so sorry for the mixup guys, my mind is obviously
clouded. When I wrote this message I was thinking of
"Alright", so I will now look that thread up for this
inquiry.
