I have an affinity for B-Side hits and I had compiled a
complete list based off research from Billboard and Joel
Whitburn books. However I just discovered something today
that I had never noticed before. I never realized that a
few of these entries don't have slashes. I always knew
that the Nutty Squirrels was two sided (but only because
the A and B sides charted separately). I was most stunned
to find out "American Pie" was double-sided.
But before you say "well duh", first take a look at these
hits are are all A-Sides...
A-Side ONLY hits:
Brand New Love Affair Part I & II BY Chicago
Dialogue (Part I & II) BY Chicago
Don't Say Goodnight (It's Time For Love) (Parts 1 & 2) BY
The Isley Brothers
For The Love Of You (Part 1&2) BY The Isley Brothers
It's A New Day (Part 1) & (Part 2) BY James Brown
The Killing Of Georgie (Part 1 And 11) BY Rod Stewart
***** I intentionally typed 11 (instead of II or 2)
because that's exactly how this appears on the 45. *****

I just noticed that the typo for "The Killing Of Georgie
(Part I And II)" wasn't widespread although it was selected
as the image for the Wikipedia page on that single.

In the case of "Dialogue," the A-side is an edit of both parts (so that's why Part 1 wasn't on one side and Part 2 the
other).

All of those titles on your first list are on a single A-side with a totally different song on the B-side. The second
list has Part 1 on the A-side and Part 2 on the B-side of the 45 single.
