(off topic)
This 1986 Buzzcocks cover went to #9 in the UK and did well on the US dance charts, but didn't make the Hot 100 at all.
The Something Wild US soundtrack album version runs 3:47. I believe this version, with printed duration 3:48, is what was released on the US retail & promo 45s, as well as a promo 12".
There was also a 4:10 version with additional production by John "Tokes" Potoker, released on promo & retail 12", the latter identifying it as "Single Version". This lightly remixed version uses a different vocal take than the soundtrack album.
Meanwhile, UK & European 45s show in Discogs as 3:55, which matches the duration on the 1988/89 album version on The Raw and the Cooked. I don't have any of the 45s but can confirm the album uses the different vocal but is not the same mix as the 4:10 version.
I'd like confirmation that the US 45 matches the US soundtrack album, and the UK/EU 45 matches The Raw and the Cooked, and that the 4:10 "Single Version" never really appeared anywhere but on 12" (typical MCA...). Thanks.
