A friend is requesting I play this particular remix of Route 66 by Depeche Mode. I can't seem to find the source of this mix. Some claim it was ONLY available on a VHS video from Depeche Mode called "101" and I'm hoping that's not the case.
Does anybody know of a digital source for this mix?
Thanks!

[edited to remove my speculation about it maybe being on the LaserDisc]:
It's an alternate mix by The Beatmasters and it can't be recreated from the commercially available 12" version or from the film.
Maybe your friend would be OK with the regular Beatmasters Mix?

It looks like the box set for 101 claims it has the original cut of the film along with the 2003 re-edit. Do you know if this version might have the correct version of "Route 66"... and if the quality would be better than any other sources?
I'm not excited about $150 for one mix of one song, but maybe I could find it used...?

I checked the Blu-Ray against the 2003 DVD and a US VHS rip, and they all are the same film with the same soundtrack.
The song is used in brief excerpts 3 times in the movie (about 7, 10, and 77 minutes in), plus the long edit used during the end credits. I think whoever commented on the video was just remembering hearing these, not the particular edit posted in that YouTube video.
The visuals on YouTube are all scenes from the movie. There's some repetition of scenes to fill up the time. The overlaid text "website video preview" makes me wonder if it was posted on a website somewhere. I poked around in the archives and found a 2003 website promoting the DVD, but the clips on it are low-res and do not include this. I suspect it was never commercially released and is just on an in-house DVD and may not have ever actually made it onto the web. Who knows.

Thank you so much for the research on this! Sounds like I need the blu-ray to rip the audio track for airplay.
That's what I love about this group; where else are you going to get answers to something this obscure? :-D
I truly appreciate your help.
