Pat, I only own a commercial 45 for this song. It has a listed time of (6:50) (which is also the same as the stated time in my latest Billboard Pop Annual), and an actual time of (6:49). I only post this info because out of the 8 current database entries for this song, 4 feature the (11:34-11:36) "LP Version", while the other 4 state "45 Version", with run times of either (4:02) or (4:03). I suspect that this latter, shorter version may, in fact, be the short version of the DJ 45. Can anyone confirm this? At the very least, unless two different commercial 45 timings were issued for this song, the database notation will need to be somehow modified.

On eBay, there is a photo of a promo copy of this with the time listed as
3:50.

I have finally acquired a promo 45 for this song. Confirmed as Enterprise
9017, only one side of this promo copy includes "I Stand Accused". It says
(Short Version) on the label, states a listed time of (3:59), but has an
actual time of (4:03).

I'm sure glad I included that a number of CDs did include this DJ short
version in my initial post, as a re-check of the db tonight shows that Pat
has since deleted this song's db entry entirely, at some point between
2008 and tonight.

I just noticed. This is at least the third different time Pat has done this.
(Melanie's "Ruby Tuesday" and Steve Miller's "Living In The U.S.A." also
come to mind.) Previously, Pat replied with something like "upon a further
recalculation, the song apparently wasn't a consensus Top 40 hit after all,
so I deleted it." I found that answer to be quite intriguing.

Because I've always respected Pat's findings, I give all of the non-BB Top
40 hits that nonetheless appear in Pat's db full "honorary Top 40 hit
status", have made handwritten notes in my master book to include these
titles as well, and then collected/research them as such.

I've long ago given up trying to "lobby" Pat about anything regarding
T4MOC. But Pat, would it at least be possible for you to make a quick post
about any future db song deletions? I have no crystal ball, and I am not
Kreskin. How else are we to know of such changes? I am not a big fan of
such seemingly arbitrary db reversal decisions. Especially when it involves
40+ year old songs, that haven't had *any* of their trade magazine peak
positions change one iota in decades. I do understand and accept that you
couldn't care less about what I think. Still, the real puzzler here is that it
seems to me that it would take you *far* more time and effort to delete all
details for a db song, rather than just to do nothing, and leave it intact.

Just days away from Christmas, I'm surely not meaning to be a scrooge
here, Pat. I just happened to finally locate this promo 45, after 6 years
looking, which prompted tonight's follow-up post. No biggie. Happy
Holidays!
