my commercial 45 of the styx song "lorelei" issued as a&m 1786 states a runtime on the label as 3:12 and does indeed run that length and is just an early fade of the 3:21 album version.....this 45 info s/b added to the db....

Revisiting this one, today I got in a promo 45 for "Lorelei." To me, the vocals seem more prominent than what's on CD. Plus, not sure if the 45 is faster than the LP version or not, but when Ed asked me a few weeks back to assist him with fading the CD version, I couldn't get it to match directly with the 45.
Anyone else, or is my mind playing tricks on me?

Anyone ever figure if this one is indeed just an early
fade?

Nearly seven years later... The 45 version of "Lorelei" is a slight remix. There is different reverb on the opening keyboards, and as John has already noted, the vocals are mixed louder. The 45 is also slightly slower than the LP version I have on Greatest Hits.

Does anyone out there have a near-mint or restored dub of the 45 mix that I can hear? If so let me know by private messenger.
My favorite Styx record.
Thank you!
Andy

Andy, I sent you a dub of my promo 45. Visually, it looks near mint, but it plays more like VG, unfortunately. I'll look to see if I have a better sounding stock copy.
