Although it's not mentioned in the database, "Run This Town" went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. There are at least two different radio versions that I know of: the "Clean Edit" and the "Extra Clean Edit." They both run 4:33, which is about six seconds longer than the album version. I'm not sure what makes up the difference, but it's not a matter of the fade being shorter on the album.

I have the commercial CD single issued as Roc Nation 521199. It has the "uncensored" version (with a Parental Advisory sticker) and runs (4:33).

Wow! I had no idea they even made CD singles anymore, other than imports. I just figured out the run time difference---the speeds are different. The radio versions that run 4:33 (and I assume your commercial CD single version) are about 2% slower than the LP version.

Was just surprised by this myself tonight. Yes, the album version is sped up by exactly 1.022 percent from what the single runs. The stand-alone digital single, which was the album version (also the clean version, separately), runs exactly 4:33. The sped-up album version runs 4:27.

George Michael did that with "Hard Day," by the way... sped it up considerably for the album. The single version (which I have on a domestic CD3, the "flip side" of the "I Want Your Sex" maxi-single) runs much slower. Same mix, just faster on the album.

Just obtained a sealed copy of the US CD single for "Run This Town" (a Best Buy exclusive), and it runs at the single speed, not the faster album speed.
