The album version of Backstreet Boys' "Larger Than Life" runs 3:51-3:52 on all database CDs to date. However, I have the song on my Promo Only Mainstream Radio DJ CD subscription series where it runs 3:55 and consists of a different mix... One noticeable difference occurs during the intro where on Promo Only disc the heavily synthesized "wow-wow-bow-wow" vocal distinctly echoes, yet only has reverb on the album version. There's also an electric guitar overdub heard throughout the version on the Promo Only CD that's not present on the album version.

According to my research, there was a commercial vinyl 45 and a 1-track promo CD single release on Jive JDJ-42624-2 for "Larger Than Life" listed as "The Video Mix", both having a printed run time of 3:56. Does anyone have a copy of either who can pass along the actual timing info and confirm the version I've described? Looks like we may well have a 45/LP version situation here.

Yes, the actual run time of the promo CD single I have is 3:57, and it is the
same mix as the copy on the Promo Only Mainstream Series.

The database currently states that the DJ CD single is "The Video Mix". My commercial CD single and commercial 7-inch single are also "The Video Mix". The most noticeable differences I detect are as described above. The single version also has a few additional seconds of fake audience sounds after the song ends; thus the difference in the running lengths.

Looks like only one entry in the database lists the video
mix. Shame that's it not more readily available.

I got the video mix via an import single of theirs.
