Here's one for the people who can discern mix differences. For the life of me, I cannot figure out the difference between the remix (single) version of
Natalie Merchant's "Wonder" and the LP version. I know I bought the LP version from iTunes and I'm not quite sure where I got the remix version (it is
labeled as the "remix" version), but dern it if they don't sound the same.
Is there any portion of the song where the difference is more pronounced and I'm just missing it?

Try listening to the portion around 1:30 with the lines "Oooooooooooooooh/I believe/Fate...".
The album version has drums, bass, piano, and a little rhythm guitar.
The remix has an organ overdub, just playing some long chords on top of everything else.
There may be other differences, but this one is what I noticed first.

Hmmmm--the version I bought on iTunes has the organ overdub as well, and it purports to be from "Retrospective" which according to the database has the LP version.
Of course, it wouldn't be the first time a digital iTunes track and the comparable CD track aren't the same.

Discogs lists a "Remix Edit" with a listed time of 3:59
on the U.S. Promo CD single. Is this just an earlier
fade of the remix?

Ohhhh, I am finding this a LOT lately, with digital albums
having versions of songs replaced vs. what was on the
physical CD's. I've probably encountered 5 or 6 examples
in the last few months. It is very annoying.

An easier place to spot the
difference may be from 2:17 to 2:27. The album version has the drums
out front and a subdued piano at this point, playing sparse background
notes. The single version has a different and much more lively and
dominant piano overdub at this point. The piano is very prominent here.
Also, listen from like 3:47 to 3:51 when Natalie is singing "She'll make her
way." On the single version, it sounds like she has a backup singer
harmonizing with her (although it may just be some reverb). On the
album version, it's dry and clearly just Natalie.
By the way, I also agree that the version that iTunes has on "Retrospective"
is the single version.

I have changed the status of the song "Wonder" from LP version to 45 version on the Natalie Merchant cd Retrospective.

The back insert of my U.S. promo CD-single (PRCD 9287-2) mentions only the 'Remix', but the actual disc contains (and lists) two tracks:
1. Remix Edit (listed time 3:59; actual time 4:09)
2. Remix (listed time 4:24; actual time 4:22)

What is the difference between the remix edit and the
remix?

The Remix Edit is just an early fade.

Can you share the fade points? Thanks in advance.
