It's a little crackly, but the short 45 is accessible here:

Sounds like the fade starts at (3:29) and ends at (3:34).

That's where I put my fade when I recreated it.

There's a 45 digital version out too with running time of 3:32.

I'd never even heard the short 45 on the radio back in the day. That's why when I heard it on CD on Rhino's "Have a Nice Decade", I was surprised to hear that one instrumental part missing.

Speaking of different versions, back as a kid I'd never noticed mix differences, like the bongos added to the bridge of "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)". When I did notice differences as a kid, first, both versions had to have been played on the radio because I wasn't buying LPs then, and the differences were usually sections missing. Two songs come to mind, one of which I heard on my phone today, which is what made me think of this. On the radio I'd heard both version of LRB's "Lady". But I really like that 3rd verse with staccator/rhythmic piano, and hearing the song without that part was just unsatisfactory to me. The 2nd song - "Sometimes When We Touch" - both versions were popular on my radio stations in MA and RI. So I always missed it when they played the 45 version with the 3rd verse edited out.
