From one of the Leo Sayer threads:
Santi Paradoa wrote:
The LP version without the sax solo does appear on an import CD. It's a 1996 UK release called Love Songs (total of 18 tracks on the Music Club label: MCCD 273). |

Thanks Aaron. I should have mentioned what CD
it was on and that it was an Import. I keep
hoping I'll find an obscure import with the
no-sax Glenn Medeiros song, but it looks like
I'd have a better chance of winning the
lottery, lol.

From what kaqueno says above, maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it sounds like Aaron is working on a Glenn Medeiros CD for Amherst Records. If so, YES, can you include it? :) |

I think what kaqueno was trying to say is that he hopes I'll have a chance to digitize it OR we will get lucky and it will appear on an official CD. So far, neither have happened, but I'll add it to my list.

Aaron: Exactly.
Thanks for adding it to your list.

EdisonLite, is your copy a stock 45? Just
trying to determine if this mix was on stock
copies or only on promos. The no-sax version
really seems to have dropped off the face of
the earth, kind of like the original no-sax
version of Leo Sayer's "When I Need You" or
the original LP Mix of The Go-Go's "We Got The
Beat". (But at least the no-sax Leo Sayer song
made it into at least one CD). |

I'm just reading all these posts, going back 4 months - and just saw this. I
just checked my 45 because I didn't remember, but my 45 is a promo copy.
If it's only available on that, then it's even more dropped off the face of the
earth - because if it's also on stock 45s, there'd be more of a chance to find
it.

bumping this one back up in case anyone has mastered the 45
non-sax version of this song. I've purchased two of these
45s over the past few years. The records were supposed to
be mint but were VG at best. Even after meticulous clean
up, still not the best.

Were those 2 45's with the no sax version
promo or commercial copies, Rick?

I did a cleanup of the no-sax version and it didn't come out very good either.
The vinyl is in real bad shape.

Answering Dan's question. The 45s I have are commercial
pressings. It's a gamble when purchasing this 45 because
some have the sax and others do not. There is nothing on
the label, that I have found, to distinguish the different
versions. I have not purchased the promo 45 as I do not
know which version it has.

The promo copy I have doesn't have the sax on the intro. I don't have it in front of me, but I do know it's pressed on styrene.
