Pat:
One more thing that might also be worth noting for Cher's "Heart of Stone"... The CHR Version running 4:01 on promo single copies is just an early fade of the LP length. Or, put another way, the CHR Version runs :11 longer than the cassette single length.
Mercy!

Here's another entry from earlier in this thread I'd like to re-visit:
Todd Ireland wrote:
MEAT LOAF - I'D LIE FOR YOU (AND THAT'S THE TRUTH) (MCA MCA5P-3548)
1) True Detective Edit - 4:50
2) Sweet Movie Edit - 4:19
3) Hot Car Girl Edit - 4:51
4) Undercover Edit - 4:21
5) Album Version - 6:37
My conclusion: DJ edits of this single run (4:19), (4:21), (4:50), (4:51), and (6:37); commercial copies were all (6:36) |

For the same reasons I documented with Cher's "Heart of Stone" two posted messages ago, I'd like to propose the comments for Meat Loaf's "I'd Lie for You (and That's the Truth)" be modified in the database as follows:
DJ copies of this single run (4:50) the "True Detective Edit"; (4:19) the "Sweet Movie Edit"; (4:51) the "Hot Car Girl Edit"; (4:21) the "Undercover Edit"; and (6:37) the "Album Version"; other than slight EQ and fade differences, the "True Detective Edit" and the "Hot Car Girl Edit" are essentially identical to each other, as is also the case with the "Sweet Movie Edit" and the "Undercover Edit"; commercial copies are all (6:36)
You might be able to word this a little better, Pat.

Re: THE SMITHEREENS - TOO MUCH PASSION (Capitol DPRO-79935)
1) EDIT - 3:55
2) LP VERSION - 4:35
Comments: I don't have a commercial single copy, but I believe it runs the same as the LP version. This will need to be verified though.
My conclusion: DJ copies of this single run (3:55) and (4:35); commercial copies were all (4:35?)
Has it ever been determined if commercial singles of "Too Much Passion" run 4:35?

Is the 'edit' actually an edit? I have the edit and the LP
copy and the notation in my files is that the edit is just
an early fade of the LP.
