I've come across a 2:37 radio edit of "Magic Man" that is not just an early fade; instead it cuts out approx. 2:26.2 - 5:16.7 from the album version, leaving the cold ending. I like it better than the early fade version.

Is this an actual record or just a file? Could have
been someone's house edit.
I agree, they could have done better than just an early
fade.

It was probably either an in-house or TM Century edit.
Wikipedia's article for "Magic Man" lists a 3:29 "single edit" and says "The album version of 'Magic Man' features an over-two-minute instrumental break which consists of a guitar solo and usage of a Minimoog synthesizer, while the single version of the song edits out most of this break, cutting it down from 5:28 to 3:29."
But I can't find any proof of this 3:29 version existing. Another custom radio edit?

Have never seen a 3:29 edit on any collector sites, so
has to be in house.
WLS did a in house edit of "Magic Man" that runs 3:57.
Nice job with edit.
Here it is recreated.

Although Wikipedia is a wonderful resource for information - I use it all the
time - when it comes to more specific facts about things such as our hobby,
it is sometimes in error. It is written by people, some of those not-too-well
informed.
I had actually updated the entry for KC & The Sunshine Band - Get Down
Tonight to include info about the 45. Someone removed it, because I could
not cite a source "publication". I told him about this website, and our
collective/expert knowledge, etc., but he said it was not acceptable. I am no
longer updating wikipedia...

Dave, sometimes Wikipedia thrives on false info and the
arrogance is hand in hand with their attitude.
They do not like correction, no matter what their goals
say they are!

There's two edits of "Magic Man" which Mushroom Records
serviced to radio on the promo 45. one is marked AM Play,
(2:45 on label), and is mono. The other side is FM Play,
is (5:35 on label) Catalog number is M-7011-DJ.
