@VWestlife, Ron implied that the printed time on that CD is wrong. MusicBrainz seems to confirm; all pressings have that first track running about 5 minutes.
@crapfromthepast, you said the non-hit UK LP version is an early fade of the "Your Love is King" 12-inch B-side.
What I assume is the UK LP version is on the Japanese CD of Diamond Life. I'm not sure if it's on all of them, but it's definitely on the 1989 edition. It has the same overall arrangement as the one on the "Your Love is King" 12-inch, but things are panned and reverb'd differently. It's not the same mix. I would not say it is an early fade.
As for the UK single version, the edit on The Best of Sade is definitely not it. As you guessed, it doesn't cut the intro, and it fades out over 3 seconds early. It seems to be another custom edit just for this compilation (the other one I spotted so far being "Hang on to Your Love"). The database needs to be updated to address this.
The actual UK single version, faded out about 2 seconds early, can be found on the circa 1993 non-US Time-Life compilation The 80's Collection: 1984. However, on this CD, the first beat's attack has been cut off and softened. To be more correct, you'll have to edit in the first split-second from another version, e.g. the one on The Best of Sade.
