Does anyone know which versions of "Paradise" have shown up on CD (including imports), besides the album version of course? Also, has the non-Rizzuto version been on CD? I'd be curious to hear that. For any Jim Steinman written songs, I tend to go with the longest version of the song, because his songs are meant to be epic; while for most other songs, I generally go with the single version.

The non-Rizzuto version is on the SONY MUSIC 100 Years: Sound Track For A Century/Rock - The Train Kept A Rollin' 2 CD set.

Yes, the short 45 version has appeared on several CDs, but I think Gordon is asking about the promo 12" version. To my knowledge, those promo 12" versions have never been on CD.

At one point, I played the DJ short edit at a wedding. Believe me, if you want a deer in the headlights look from about 50 people dancing, give it a shot... LOL. |

Wow! I'm surprised you made it outta there in one piece. (Lawd I can't stand this song!)
With that said, I used this one for the bathroom break. In almost all cases I ever had the folks dancing were clowning too hard to see that the DJ had disappeared. Mind you,
I often had a staff member watch the booth in my absence. I can't even imagine how many CDs I'd lose if I had just walked away for eight and a half minutes.

I haven't been on this board for about 3 months, so just catching up now. Good
to know about the non-Rizzuto version on that CD comp. I'll have to look for it.
Of course, I prefer the version with him - it's such an integral part of the song.
But as a fan of Meat Loaf, and being a collector, I think it would be nice to have
this version.
Aaron, I wasn't asking about promo 12" versions and didn't know they exist.
But from your post, they obviously do - on vinyl only. Were they just edits? Or
in any way remixed (although I can't imagine that)?
