Hi there members of the Top 40 Music On CD domain this
post is announcing my retirement from hosting the Top 40
Music On CD publication after 40 years of service. Never
fear the domain will continue on under administration by
Aaron Kannowski and this will occur no later than the end
of this calendar year. I have full confidence that Aaron
will be capable on continuing this valuable service.
Since I will no longer need to keep the physical compact
discs of which there are roughly 30,000 I would like to
accept offers to purchase the entire library of not only
the compact discs but also the 45 rpm singles referenced
in my publication and I can forward you my digital
inventory upon request of these items if you are
interested.

As someone who joined your forum in 2007, I can't thank you
enough, Pat, for all of the tireless work you've done not
only with the online forum but your many publications as
well. Enjoy your retirement, you certainly deserve it!

Congrats Pat, enjoy retirement but a few questions

1) Will the paid search feature/yearly membership for your top 40 discontinue or is Aaron taking that over too?
2) If Aaron is taking over I would love to be a moderator though not much happens on this board that needs moderation but either way...
3) If you are discontinuing the paid service might you consider publishing a book, the information is very valuable to many including myself.

I wish you luck with selling your collection. Sadly as most recently as the 2020's almost everything released is pretty much digital now, unless your name is Taylor Swift, Adele or Drake.

Thanks again for making this forum accessible. We all owe you a debt of gratitude for keeping it up all these years.

Yes the paid database service will continue on with Aaron
in control. This database service was initial in a book
format but would now run about 1,000 pages which would make
it priced out of everyones financial means and would
require Part 1 and Part 2 due to binding considerations.

Pat, this database and community has been so wonderful! I
have learned so much from everyone who posts. And being

I second the emotions expressed here, congrats to both Pat & Aaron.

As tempting as a collection that size and depth might be, I'd need to add a room to the house just to accommodate it!

Congratulations to both Pat and Aaron! You have done what nobody else would, or could, and this database, forum, and the friendships formed in it would have never been possible without your tireless work.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for documenting and preserving American recorded music history! I pay for continued access to the database mostly to support the forums, truth be told. You've done God's work here, and should feel very proud.

I know with Aaron in charge, your legacy will not only survive, but thrive. Enjoy!!!

I just wanted to say congratulations and thank you for the
fine service you have provided for all of these years. I
still have my printed copy sitting on my bookshelf and it
is the one book I open frequently. The chat board has
been my favorite board for the past two decades. I was so
excited to read Aaron will be continuing your legacy. He
is the perfect person for the job. Wishing you all the
best in retirement.

Many, many thanks, Pat, for the original books and everything which
followed. This forum has been Indispensable. As others have said, you
picked the best successor in Aaron.

Enjoy your retirement and best of luck in the future.

Congrats on your retirement, Pat. Your website, the old book, and chat forum
have been amazing tools. Thank you. Don't know what we would have done
without them. (And I wish there was an equivalent one for the UK charts, lol).

And Aaron will be great taking over your role.
