Gerry And The Pacemakers - It's Gonna Be Alright

I couldn't fit the full title and artist in the subject
line.

I'm borrowing a friend's mono styrene promo 45 and it
sounded a little different to me when I was playing it,
than the stereo mixes I've heard over the past 20 years,
but I can't quite pinpoint the differences I am hearing.
Now, my hearing is most definitely shot, and I've been
having a lot of seizures lately, leading to some signs of
neurological issues, and so I can be the one to say that
"this may all be in my own head". I don't know if anyone
else would see the need to investigate this further or
not.

I do note that for the two CD's listing a time of 2:23,
it says neither the 45 nor LP version. It's my
understanding that both the UK and Canadian 45's contain
the full unedited intro of the song. I don't know if
they'd differ from the longer stereo mixes otherwise,
either.
Live in stereo.

So, I don't know if the 'difference' you are hearing is a mix difference or are you referring to the
longer (2:23) intro on the 2 listings in the database? My See For Miles "EP Collection" CD, See CD 95 says
'It's Gonna Be Alright (Film Version)' To my ears, it is all mono and has the 20 second intro before the
vocals start. My "Singles Plus" CD, EMI-46602 has it all in stereo and has the 5 second intro (2:09). I
think what Ron Furmanek did to the 'Best Of', EMI 96093, was to put the long intro (mono) onto the stereo
version. That's just my guess. If It's a mix difference, I have no clue. -Bill

Hey, Tom:

Man, I'm so sorry to hear about the terrible ordeal you've been going through lately with your seizure issues. That sounds a little scary! I was wondering, first of all, if you've had a doctor diagnose the most likely cause for them?

Second, I'd be happy to listen to your mono promo 45 of "It's Gonna Be Alright", if you're able to dub and send me a digital copy, so that I can conduct an A/B comparison with the stereo mix to help determine any discernible differences. Feel free to PM me, and I'll give you my direct email contact info.

Yes, Tom, the UK (and I guess CAD) 45 was the one with the
longer intro.

As for the stereo mix, there are two different stereo
mixes, as well as the mono mix. As usual, the mono and
stereo have their differences in sound. But the two stereo
mixes differ as well. One is rather wide, assuming this is
the 1965 stereo mix from the "Ferry Cross The Mersey" LP,
while Ron's from 1991 is much narrower.
