The database notes that the Animals' "I'm Crying" ends cold on the Retrospective CD (Abkco 9325). Can one accurately conclude from this that the song fades out on the 45 (and on the parent LP, if one exists)?

My commercial 45 (MGM 13274) has a fade ending.

my commercial 45 issued as mgm 13274 states the run time on
the label as 2:30 but actually runs 2:42....if you fade the
abkco best of cd version for 0:12 from 2:30 to 2:42 you'll
effectively re-create the true vinyl 45 version....

Apparently, some pressings of the 45 do have a cold ending, including this one posted on YouTube by The45Prof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-u3Eao_58g

I'm skeptikal that the video has an actual 45 dub. It sounds way too clean without a trace of vinyl noise, even on the ending.

That's true, Aaron. The45Prof did not use 45 dubs back when he began to
post. In recent years, he does dub 45s, and states so when he does. That
particular post is from 4 years ago, so I would assume it's a CD rip from a CD
with the UK 45.

Confirmed by The45Prof after a viewer inquiry:
This video was originally posted about eight years ago when I was often using digital audio sources if I believed that they matched the singles. Obviously, I didn't pay close enough attention to this track but will replace it shortly. Thanks for the heads-up...I appreciate it! Bob
The actual vinyl 45 sounds grungier than the CD dub, that's for sure.

Yes, The45Prof has updated his YouTube post with a version with a faded ending. (BTW, the Canadian Capitol 45 has a cold ending, like the UK Columbia 45.)
