Correct. It's not NEW -- it's actually out of print -- but it's still widely available. It's the box to hold the rest of the "Visionary" singles in, but it comes with one single, which is "Thriller."

Well if it's out of print - does anyone here have even an accurately simulated edit of this? I really looked for years, and spend all anyone ever should on Jacko vinyl anyway. I'd really appreciate if someone can help me here. Or even if there is something to trade. I promise I'm not trying to mooch...lol.

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Jody

I don't understand, Jody... I said it's easy to find used online and it's not expensive. I even provided you with a link where to buy it for about $10 shipped.

Here's the link again:

Not to worry - what I was emphasizing was I've paid more than my share for Jacko vinyl and I was just hoping to find a download - which I did :D (I know - not exactly legal, but like I said since I've purchased more of his work legally than anyone ought to, I felt totally entitled to a freebie - gotta love torrents!)

Nonetheless, your information proved immensely helpful. But there is a VERY interesting difference on this remix.

On the original vinyl version, or at least on the promo which CKFM and CFTR in Toronto, ON played, the MJ improvisation that was originally between Vincent's verses was just looped twice (first at 3:42, and then again at 3:58). On this mix, after 3:58, the improvisation finishes (ala Thriller LP version) as if to go into Vincent's second verse, but it is just instrumental. Keep in mind, that the song fades over these last ten seconds, so I'm actually cranking the volume to actually hear this.

Cheers,
Jody

Damn that Michael Jackson. Waldo pointed out on the Steve Hoffman site that the Italian edition of "King of Pop" contains the full-length version of "Carousel." It's just a 1 1/2 minute excerpt on the "Thriller Special Edition." Now I'm gonna have to buy that.

And I suspect, though I haven't verified, that the Australian special edition of "King of Pop" contains the single version of "You Can't Win." Problem is, the special edition isn't on iTunes Australia, and it's not on the regular edition. EDIT: I guess it's the extended version. I found it listed on a torrent site with a run time of 7:19. Damn.

Grrr all these different versions. Looks like I'll have to find an Italian fan to
hook it up for me on that one. I already spent my cash on the UK 3CD...not
gonna do it again for one song.

Carousel is great.. it does fade out 2-3 seconds earlier than the version legally available to download on www.michaelsembello.com but at least it's an improvement from that silly 2001 Thriller S.E. edit

I already ordered it from Amazon. I would recommend them -- if "something happens" you know they'll refund your money.

Brian, I've been forgetting to post this, but on the Visionary Single for
Remember The Time the lead track isn't the main version as it's generally
referred to. It's a slight remix like the 12" Main Mix. Does anyone know if
this is a '45 version or if it's appeared on any other CDs? Anyone interested
to compare I can send the track off the single.

really! it's different? i never noticed.
the single is the same as the album version. can't wait to get home now!

i do have an alternate version on CDR that has slight different lyrics.. but it's never been issued commercially.

Oh, I never heard one with alternate lyrics. Sounds neat. But this version
must have been a single version somewhere down the line on something.
The vocals are set back a bit and the drums are a bit louder, too

i listened last night. i'm pretty sure this is a simple remix on one of the many Remember The Time CD singles. i'm really not sure which one. i'll need some time to get them all out.. i have five or six..

http://www.jacksonfamily-database.de/Michael/s_remembertheti me.htm

so Sony has made yet another error as this Visionary issue is 100% not the single!

according to Wikipedia it's an entirely new 7" mix

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remember_the_Time

i did check the New Jack Radio Mix because it has a similiar timing.. but it isn't that.

very puzzling!

I think this may be a mix that was supposed to be a single mix, but was
scrapped last minute, and whoever did the single set grabbed this tape
instead of the file for the album version.

Little update: The French 3CD version of King Of Pop has the Original LP
Version of Rock With You as one of the bonus tracks.

Wanted to bump Brian W. (& Co.)'s great work in light of recent events. A great resource for those in the mood to seek out Michael Jackson's music.

Thanks for all of the hard work that went into this. :)

Finally ordered this (the "Remember the Time" DualDisc), Nick. Got it for a reasonable price (about $5.50), allegedly new and sealed, from a seller on Amazon UK. Thanks for the tip-off.
