Anyone know if the Single Version of this song exists anywhere on CD? It didn't chart at all on the Pop Chart, but was huge on the AC Chart (#2, 1987). The 45 has a listed running time of 4:07. A check on Discogs shows that it's been on several Various Artists compilations, but not all of them have the running times listed. I imagine it could be on a TM Century CD, but with them having been known to recreate edits, there's always the possibility that it may not exactly match the 45. Thanks for any information.

Hi Dan. All I have is the LP version that runs over five minutes on the Very Best Of CD release from 2001. Nice tune. I wonder if the 45 edits the sax solo in the middle of the song or if it's just an early fade (or both)?

This one was edited throughout the song. YouTube has
the video with the edited version:

It looks that way. This video on YouTube claims to be the Single Version. The sax solo on it seems to run around 27 seconds whereas on the album version it's somewhere around 36 seconds.

There are several edits. The 45 might also be a little sped up as well.
It's a great song.

One of those "should've been bigger" songs. Reportedly, Dan's label didn't
think this would fly at Top 40 after the the first single from the "Exiles" record
"She Don't Look Back" was flop.
Here's how to make the 45.
Keep everything up until 1:01, make sure Dan has finished holding the note on
the word "Go".
Remove 1:01 to 1:11
Keep 1:11 to 2:17
Remove 2:17 to 2:27
Keep 2:27 to 3:44
Remove 3:44 to 4:06
Put a 15 second fade at 4:15, or 3:55 on your edit.
Your edit should run 4:10, nice or take a few seconds. The 20 second sax solo
is not edited.

I heard "Lonely in Love" on my local radio station quite
a bit! Do you happen to have the edit points for the 45
version of "She Don't Look Back"? I can't seem to find
the edit on YouTube.

The edit runs 26 seconds shorter than the LP, so I would assume it's just an
early fade.

Thank you. You are probably right, considering that the
last minute of the album version is all
instrumental/guitar.
