Couldn't find a thread for this song...
Does the Album Version of "Shoop" found on the A-side of the US cassette single release (857 314-4) match the one found on the US CD maxi-single?
I ask because, on the maxi CD, Album Version actually isn't the exact version found on parent album Very Necessary, but rather a censored version where the word "retard" during the male rap is replaced with a record scratch.

my commercial cassingle issued as next plateau 857314 and
states the version on the cassettes face as the 'album
version', does NOT contain the 'retard' lyric and is
scratched out...

Funny enough, there are actually a couple other threads regarding "Shoop" so something must be acting up with the search function. I'll bump the others to the top...

Thanks, aaronk... I swear I did searches both here and via google and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING would come up, otherwise I wouldn't have started a new thread.
Just now, the only thread that shows up when I look for "Shoop" (typed alone even) is this one started just about 24 hours ago.
Thanks for bringing the previous topics to the top, even if now I do feel a bit *RECORD SCRATCH*ed

TM Studios (Century) lists a Danny D's Remix edit of
Shoop. Did any stations play that remix?

I seem to recall Casey's Top 40 playing that version, and I know they used HitDisc for a lot of their music. We used quite a few HitDiscs on the air, too, but we didn't play "Shoop" from that disc. Our source was from a Hitmakers CD, which used the single version (LP with "retard" censored).
Here are the details of my promo CD single:
CDP 1025
1. Album Version (listed & actual 4:05)
2. Danny D's RnB Mix (listed & actual 3:52)
3. Danny D's Radio Mix (listed & actual 3:54)
4. Instrumental (listed & actual 4:07)
5. Guru's Mix (listed & actual 3:52)

My local AC station (98 WGRD in Grand Rapids, Michigan)
only played the "Danny D's Radio Mix".
