Does anyone know if the version without the child (Helen's daughter, as I understand it) talking on the intro and outro is available anywhere on CD or digitally? I believe this was only available as a promo 45 when the song was released. Just wondering if any of the many Helen GH compilations has this version.

To my knowledge this version only ever appeared on the
mono side of the DJ 45. Never on CD and only in mono.

In mono and I believe a dedicated mix, not just a fold
down.

About a year ago I was in Ocean State Job Lots (a New
England discount/overstock chain) and heard this version of
the song on their background music. To say the least I was
surprised (1) to even hear this song, which didn't seem to
have much staying power and (2) to hear the promo edit.
The chain produces their own background music stream...a
few songs, an ad, more songs, another ad, etc.

That's interesting, Hykker. I guess if they were playing
it there, it must be somewhere on CD, unless what they
were playing was a dub of the promo 45.

FWIW, the only version I recall hearing at the time was
the one with the kid. My Mom liked it well enough to buy
the 45 (she rarely bought singles after 1960 or so).
