One other detail that I uncovered while researching the 1986-94 era of Bad Company this past weekend, which, if confirmed, should be added to Pat's db notes: Apparently there was only one U.S. promo CD single issued for their 1991 top 40 hit, "Walk Through Fire", which was Atco PRCD 4053-2. It contained one version of the song, labeled on both the back insert & the disc itself as the LP version, w/ a printed time of "4:48". HOWEVER, it seems that PRCD 4053-2 actually contained the same (4:19) "remix" that appeared on the commercial cassette single, as reported by edtop40 in his post from 2006 above. Although I don't own the promo CD single myself, this is my evidence: Note that in his description of this promo CD single on eBay here, seller "brenhow" states the following: "Contrary to the text on the disc insert and the CD itself, this single contains the remix version that runs for 4:19 and starts with an acoustic guitar instead of electric guitars. This remix was otherwise released only on cassette single and was the most commonly heard version on the radio -- this is the only way to find this version on CD!" The page for PRCD 4053-2 on Discogs also backs this up, where the person who supplied the info here also posted "(remix)" after the song title, as well as a timing of "4:19" (despite their photos showing otherwise). Anyone here have a copy of PRCD 4053-2 to confirm??? (aaronk??? jimct???) If so, Pat will need to add a note to the db, stating "promo CD singles contain the 'remix' running 4:19, not 4:48 as stated on the label" (or something close to that)...

Attn: Pat. Over the weekend, I spotted something else currently MISSING from the on-line db regarding this song. (I see that you've already updated the db notes w/ the promo CD single info that I inquired about in my previous post above...)
In 2013, Friday Music re-issued Bad Company's 1988 album, Dangerous Age and 1990's Holy Water (the latter being the original parent album of "Walk Through Fire"), as a deluxe 2-CD set, w/ bonus tracks. And while you do already have Friday Music 81884 listed in the db under both "If You Needed Somebody" and "Walk Through Fire", in addition to the (4:46) "LP version" (track 2 on disc two), note that it ALSO supposedly includes the (4:19) "45 version" of "Walk Through Fire" as one of the bonus tracks (track 14) - "how about that"! :-) Does your copy of Friday Music 81884 not include the "45 version" of "Walk Through Fire" as well??? If it does, that would obviously make eBay seller "brenhow"'s additional claim that the "45 version" has only ever appeared on the promo CD single FALSE, lol...
This deluxe 2-CD set is thankfully still in print, so I actually just went ahead and ordered my own copy of Friday Music 81884, as one of the other bonus tracks on it is a rare (6:04) 12" version of "No Smoke without a Fire", which I'm pretty sure I've never heard before - so I should have this one in about a week, and can report any additional details, if necessary...

Yes, promo CD PRCD 4053-2 has an actual run time of 4:19 and contains the remix.

I have this song on Hit Disc 900B (AOR). iTunes says it runs 4:18 and is
different than the regular LP version.
