my commercial 45 for the war song 'all day music' issued
as united artist 50815 states the run time on the label as
3:59 and does indeed run that length.....the vinyl 45 has a
count-off where he says....'one, two, one, two, three,
four'.....then the music starts......the anthology cd set i
have does NOT have the count-off included........the vinyl
45 fades out earlier that the anthology cd version when you
line them up from after the count-off........the question
is.....do any of the cd's in the db have the count-off
included?

I was also curious, if anyone here has one, about the 45
that runs 4:09.
I was wondering where the extra 10 seconds comes in - a
longer intro, or a longer fade?

For what it's worth, the version of "All Day Music" that is on the flip of War's big hit "Summer" from 1976 does not have the countoff. At least my copy of United Artists 834 doesn't. Of course, this was released 5 years after "All Day Music" hit the charts in 1971, so I don't know if they just lopped off the countoff and re-released it or did further remixing for the flip side.
Oh, this flip side version times out at 4:00, although I have some surface noise at the fade, so maybe give or take a second on this timing (sorry!). Listed time is 3:59.

No Ed the (4:03) versions of this song do not include the countoff. Aside from the LP running slightly longer than the 45, the only difference I can detect from the 45 and LP is that the commercial 45 has a :05 countoff included. I do not have the 45 that runs (4:09) as that information came from a member email to me years ago. Does anyone have a copy of that 45 that states (3:59) but runs (4:09) and if so could you pass along the matrix number?
