The database states that dj copies of Cradle Of Love run 4:05.
Can this be edited down from the LP and commercial 45 version?

Yes, and I'll try to post details ASAP. From memory, it's just an early
fade.

Thanks Aaron. An early fade would make things nice and easy! I will await further information from you.

I managed to solve this one myself. Aaron is correct. It is just an early fade, with the fade starting at approximately 3:53 (just as Billy lets out an "oowwwwwwww").
Nice and easy.

See the US commercial copies were (4:31), that is some short of the CD's (in range from about 4:36 to 4:40 (except one)). It this an early fade issue also? I have the UK CDsingle (Chrysalis IDOLCD 14) which runs 4:06 (+/-). It is a Edit (+ Extended mix (6.27)), and is probably the same as the US 45 DJ copy.

Anyone know the origin of this extended intro version of
Cradle of Love? I can't find anything on Discogs.

Per the YouTube poster's comments, they had to re-edit
the
middle of the song due to missing audio, but this intro
was definitely played on WLOL-FM, Minneapolis in 1990
(I've heard it on multiple airchecks).

Weird! I've never heard that version before. The edits on the intro are a little rough if you listen carefully. It also sounds like some sort of crossfade where the drum track fades in.

Listening more closely, I think this shows the signs of an in-house creation. Someone did a nice job recording the synthesizer and base and then crossfading them into the repeating guitar lick that's taken from the end of the song. I couldn't find these elements in either the extended or dub versions of the song, and as far as I know, there aren't any other mixes. Guessing this must have been passed along from station to station. Keeping my fingers crossed that someone on this board may have worked at a station that played it, or at least knows its origins.
If you want to hear it in an actual aircheck, listen here at the 1:04 mark:
