Is the radio edit a different mix? Just wondering why
they'd bother with removing 8 seconds from the song.

The Radio Edit removes 3:47 to 3:55 of the LP Version. The mixes are the same, but there is a slight vocal overlap at the edit point that cannot be replicated by editing the LP version.
