Wondering the differences, if anyone knows, between the LP versions and DJ edits for:
1) Big Log
2) In The Mood
3) Little By Little

"Big Log" is an early fade, running 3:44.
"In The Mood" is an edit (and maybe an early fade); however, I can't remember which parts were edited out.
"Little By Little" is an edit, and there is only one. At 0:18, make an edit after the drum fill to the first beat of the measure where the first verse starts.

The intro is shortened on "In The Mood" (:29 vs :62).
I think the intro was shortened on the edit of "Big Log" too, but I didn't note it on the sleeve.

Nope, it's just an early fade. That one I'm sure of.

Thanks, gentlemen! Had been keeping an eye on a couple promos for sale online. Figured there's always a savings if I ask the experts here first...

Does the intro still fade in? Or, does it start later in the intro?

No, it doesn't fade in on the promo version. It starts on a snare hit on the fourth beat of a measure. I don't have the LP version readily handy to do a close comparison, but that info might be helpful.

AaronK, am I correct in understanding that on the DJ edit of "Little By Little" the guitar feedback that begins fading in during the drum fill at :18 is abruptly cut off on the downbeat at :52 because of that edit?
Sometimes I'm amazed at what I accepted on the radio, not knowing what had been done to songs!

Another RP question:
"Heaven Knows." All of the copies I find on Discogs are the album version at 4:03 BUT the promos for the USA which are listed as:
(Vocal/Edit) 3:57
The 7" promo in question on Discogs
and
(Edit) 3:57
The CD promo in question on Discogs
If the album version is 4:03, and I take off the synth & guitar effects at the beginning (7 seconds), I get a time of 3:54.
Anybody have the U.S. promo (7" or CD single) to confirm if / how anything was done to shorten "Heaven Knows," and what the actual final length is?
It would also be nice to confirm that the "vocal / edit" isn't a remix.
Thanks in advance for your help!
UPDATE: Editing the sfx intro off the album version, I actually come up with a song that is 3:57.734 in length.
Coincidence? I doubt it. :) Sounds like the album length was incorrect.
Opinions?

Anybody ever find the edit points for "I'm In The Mood?" Listeners are asking for it and all I have is the album version...

Gene, I sent you my file for review. If you feel like posting the edit points, feel free :)
