Can't find the 45 version on the DB apart from one mastered from vinyl. Has anyone made a 45 version?

I found the 45 version on a love songs compilation that was issued in 1986. I'm fairly certain that it's from the master tape. The fidelity is a little on the dull side, but if you want to hear it (and use it as a guide to perform your own edit), send me a PM. It's just a case of halving the instrumental section that follows the first chorus.

Thanks for the heads up, Brian W. I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those.

One of the easiest 45 edits. After the first chorus,
simply remove the section starting at about 1:37.5 (on the
downbeat) through 1:44.9. The LP version has the brief
instrumental passage after the chorus play twice while the
45 version has it once.

know of the source .

I just did that edit described by Roscoe. Cheaper, too.

That's EMI Virgin PolyGram's UK 2-CD set Now 1984 (1993). It's the 45 edit, but it's a slightly early fade.
Best to do the homemade edit described above.

I never knew there was a 45 version (edit) of this song! Just picked up
a nice stock copy today and wanted to post my findings:
Listed 3:59 (same listing on the LP) and actual 3:50
Since it's such a small edit and the times are listed as the same it may
be easy to miss.

Is the list time wrong? It has the album length listed and not the 45 version
time.

Yes, the listed time is wrong. It runs an actual 3:53.

Thanks! I was able to edit the LP version into the 45 version. I was going to
buy the CD Brian mentioned but they had already sold the $10 one. So I had
some time and edited the LP version. With the edit mine runs 3:49.
