Had a request for this song at a wedding last night and
didn't have it. The 45 is listed with a run time of
4:30.
There is a collection (box set?) called "The Complete
Stevie Wonder (not listed in the database) with the 7"
version - Verdick Mix with a run time of 4:30.
Is this the commercial 45 version?

I used to get requests for this when I deejayed in Michigan, because
there was a dance called the "Detroit Hustle." I always played the
album version, which was the familiar version. The remix that appears
on the promo CD single is quite drastic. I had it at one time and sold it,
because I was very disappointed in the mixes.
I'm not sure what's on the 7" single, but if it's the same mix as the 12"
and promo CD, it sounds nothing like the familiar LP version that I used
to play at weddings.

I'm thinking it's an edit of the 12" mix.
Anyone have edit points to recreate the 45?

Mark Matthews was kind enough to send me a dub of the
commercial 45. As I suspected, the 45 is an edit of the
12" version which is a remix and nothing like the LP
version.
The 45 version runs 4:29 on the Complete Stevie Wonder.

I think the collection also contains the 45 version of I
Ain't Gonna Stand For It.
