Is anyone familiar with the Simple Red – Simple The Hits promo compilation that came out in the late 80’s? My radio station received a copy of it – the number is PRCD 4162-2. I know Aaron mentioned on the thread for Money$ Too Tight that the 45 version was on this promo. I wonder if any other of the songs on there are the single versions.

The promo contains:

1.If You Don’t Know Me By Now,
2. Holding Back The Years
3. It’s Only Love
4. Money$ Too Tight To Mention - Yes - single version

Thanks!

This promo DOES contain the 45 versions of both "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and "Holding Back The Years." The former also edits off the opening note like the US vinyl 45.

Regarding "It's Only Love," the run time on the promo CD matches the US 45 printed time of 3:59. The label of the 45 has a remix credit and states "edited from Valentine Mix." I'm not familiar enough with the LP and 45 versions to pick out specific mix differences.
