According to the database, CD appearances of Joe Cocker's "Feeling Alright" run anywhere from 3:59 to 4:11 and there are currently no associated comments that help explain or account for the wide run time range. Does anyone have "Feeling Alright" on vinyl 45 or the parent LP who can pass along the song's run time info? I'm curious to know if the CD run time discrepencies can be explained due to a length, edit, and/or speed difference between the 45 and LP.

I don't have the single, but there are speed differences in some of the releases (I've heard a slower-pitched version on radio, while the track I downloaded from iTunes has a faster pitch [but runs (4:11)]).

So I wonder if we have a similar situation to the Allman Brothers Band's "Ramblin' Man"--45s are slower but shorter, LPs are longer but faster. Just throwing it out there, I don't know for sure.

Todd, my master inventory states that I do own a commercial 45 for this, but I can only seem to locate my promo 45 at this moment. My DJ 45 has the same, listed time (4:12); actual time (4:16) mono version of "Feeling Alright" on both sides. If and when my commercial 45 turns up, I'll report my findings, unless someone else happens to have their original 45 handy and beats me to it! :)

Looks like Pat has now updated the database to reflect printed and actual 45 run time info for "Feeling Alright". Does anyone have the parent Joe Cocker 1969 vinyl LP With a Little Help from My Friends who can tell us how long the song runs on it? According to the database, "Feeling Alright" clocks in at 4:08 on the album's CD reissues. If this is any indication of the vinyl LP run time, then we have a 45/LP length distinction here that should probably be pointed out in the database.

my commercial 45 runs 4:15 and if you pitch the 4:11 'a&m
classics' cd version down to run 4:15 and fold to mono,
you'll effectively re-create the vinyl 45 version....sriv94
had it right....it's a pitch issue...
