More are coming out on 8/18 (looking at Amazon.com). Among them are "Crystal Blue Persuasion" (Tommy James & The Shondells) and "Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" (Gordon Lightfoot).

And "Crystal Blue" and its B-side are STEREO! BOOOO, Rhino!!!

Though it looks like "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" will be the single edit.

Some in the hopper for 9/15 include:

Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - Crosby, Stills & Nash (if it's mono, I'm in high heaven, but I can't tell from the sample)
Lyin' Eyes - The Eagles
Sharp Dressed Man - Z Z Top (didn't even know a single version/edit existed)

ETA: I tried to link to the sample on Amazon.com but it didn't work. If someone wants to check and let me know, I'd appreciate it.

"Judy Blue Eyes" and its B-side are definitely mono on the samples, Doug!

Was the stock 45 of this mono? My promo copy is stereo.

Hykker, there must've been two different 1969 "Suite..." promo 45s then, because mine only has the song in mono, same as my stock 45 does.

There was an earlier thread about this cut - if I understand correctly, the stock copy was mono but reissue 45s were in stereo.

"CSG Processed Mono Master" on both the stock 45 and at least the initial gold/black/white Oldies Series reissue 45.

Also, in the latest batch of single edits added on iTunes is Chic's "Le Freak."

Odd that iTunes didn't get clearance to sell "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" (wound up having to go through Amazon to get it).

I didn't include "Le Freak" because the single is a little easier to find on other CDs (as compared to "SJBE," "Lyin' Eyes" and "Sharp Dressed Man," whose 45 versions have never been on CD TTBOMK).

Was the edit of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" 4 1/2 minutes long?

Yes. (4:37), to be more exact.

Seems like iTunes had been getting some of the later than Amazon.

My reissue is on the silver label. the B side (Marrakesh Express) is mono, Suite is stereo (it is labeled mono on the 45) but i can't confirm that it is the single edit. At this time i'm too swamped to try to find both the reissue and my mono stock 45 to compare them.

Too bad they waited a week--they could've had my business instead of Amazon.

iTunes doesn't decide when things are released on their site -- the record companies do.

It's still odd, though, when you consider iTunes had exclusive rights on three of the original 60 singles in July. So you'd figure iTunes would continue to get exclusivity for some titles ahead of Amazon. With "SJBE" it was the opposite, iTunes was the last to get the rights to sell it.

It's also possible that Apple screwed up--i.e. they were supposed to release it a week ago but didn't.

Couple of notable titles that I don't think have ever been available in their 45 versions before slated for 10/13 (according to Amazon.com):

Jungle Love - The Time
Stay - Jackson Browne (this one's backed with "Rosie"--I had always thought "The Load Out" was the B-side)
Hard To Say I'm Sorry - Chicago

And anyone for the Masked Marauders?

Doug, "Rosie" was the B-side on initial "Stay" commercial 45 pressings, but was then quickly replaced with "The Load-Out", because all AOR stations (and a good number of Top 40 stations) were playing "The Load-Out/Stay" right off of the LP. As for the "Masked Marauders", there hasn't been too many "Bubbling Under" songs offered yet on digitial. But 1969's "Cow Pie" was a Canadian group that was masquerading as Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, John Lennon and Paul McCartney! I have the orignal 45 (on "Deity" records), but I'm sure I'm one of the few. There's probably still a little residual interest today, due to the "superstar novelty" factor, but I'm just guessing here.
