As my first topic thread (I posted a greeting here and a reply to "The Doors TOUCH ME") I'd like to mention that I have SD's 45 rpm and LP versions, thanks to WinmX,of DIA.
For anyone who mnight want to rememebr the differences, the differences were:
About 4 edits in the open.
The 50 second organ part removed.
Three (approx.) more cuts in the outro!
I wonder how many CDs it appeared on..in keeping with the purpose of this forum.
Of course the long version (CAN'T BUY A THRILL) is avaible in many places and on radio.

According to my 8th Edition of the Top 40 Music On CD book (which lists discs thru 2001), it has only appeared in its 45 version on two CDs. Both CDs are from Time Life (so, they're probably out of print and hard to find) and have the song in mono.

Has anyone timed their 45 of this song to see if it runs the listed time of 3:57? Those mono edits on the various Time Life CD releases run 4:10 so just wondering which timing is correct.

I have the promo of this, and it's mono/stereo so the
short version did exist in stereo.

4:10 sounds about right for the single. Back in the day
I remember carting it up, tried to use a 4:00 cart and it
was too short.

For purists like me, lol, does the 45 fade 2 seconds
sooner than the Time-Life versions, or, does the 4:10 CD
version need to be sped up?

John was kind enough to send me a dub of his stock 45.
Comparing it with the T-L file I have, I slowed down the
T-L version by .3%.
Also, the 45 does fade out just a teeny bit later
compared to the T-L file.
